Allahabad HC said on live-in - It is not allowed in society…
The allahabad High court has given its verdict on 'live-in relationship' while hearing a case. The allahabad High court said that, 'Although 'live-in' is not allowed in society, still the youth are getting attracted towards such relationships. The court said, "The time has come that we should prepare some framework and find a solution to save the moral values in the society." Justice Nalin Kumar Srivastava said, "We live in a changing society where the moral values and general conduct of the young generation is changing in the family, society or workplace."
The court granted bail to akash Keshari of varanasi district with this comment. A case was registered against akash at Sarnath police station under various sections of the indian Penal Code (IPC) and Scheduled Caste-Scheduled Tribe Act in which it was alleged that he had physical relations with the girl on the pretext of marriage and later refused to marry her.
Live-in has no social acceptance- HC
The court said, "As far as 'live-in relationship' is concerned, it has not got any social acceptance, but young people are attracted to such relationships because the youth, whether it is a man or a woman, can easily escape their responsibility towards their partner, so their attraction towards such relationships is increasing rapidly." During the hearing, the petitioner's lawyer argued that this story of the case is fabricated because the victim is an adult and the physical relationship between the two was mutually agreed. The victim was in a live-in relationship with the accused for about six years and the allegation of abortion is false. The lawyer said that the accused youth never promised marriage and both were in this relationship with mutual consent.
