Uttarakhand's economy picks up pace!

The uttarakhand government has released the report of the Economic survey for the financial year 2023-24. According to the report, the state's growth rate has registered a significant increase and has reached 6.61 percent, which is higher than the national average of 6.4 percent. Along with this, Uttarakhand's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has also increased, which has increased from Rs 3 lakh 32 thousand crore in 2022-23 to an estimated Rs 3 lakh 78 thousand crore in 2023-24.

Principal Secretary Planning R Meenakshi Sundaram gave information about placing this report on the assembly table. He said that the economic scenario of the state has improved, which has had an impact on various sectors. Particularly significant growth has been recorded in the service sector, public administration and fisheries.

State's development gained momentum

According to the Economic survey 2023-24, Uttarakhand's growth rate was 6.61 percent, which is more than the national average of 6.4 percent. This increase is the result of better economic policies, infrastructure development and reforms in various sectors in the state. According to the government, continuous improvement in economic policies and efforts to create a favorable environment for investment have strengthened the state's economy. Apart from this, the economy has also got a boost from industrial development and expansion of tourism sector.

Huge increase in GDP

Significant increase has also been registered in the GDP of Uttarakhand. The state's gross domestic product was Rs 3 lakh 32 thousand crore in the financial year 2022-23, which has increased to an estimated Rs 3 lakh 78 thousand crore in 2023-24. According to economists, this growth is the result of expansion in industries, service sector and agriculture in the state. The steps taken by the government to encourage infrastructure development and investment also have a big contribution in this. The service sector has contributed the most to Uttarakhand's economy. The service sector has contributed the most to the GDP with 46.02 percent. Apart from this, a growth of 13.58 percent has also been recorded in public administration and other services.
