18 people lost their lives in the stampede at New delhi railway station last night (15 February). 41-year-old pinky Sharma, a resident of Sangam Vihar, delhi is also among the dead. pinky was going to take bath in Prayagraj maha Kumbh along with 12 members of her family. pinky died after being crushed in the crowd before the religious journey was completed.
Speaking to ABP News, Pinky's brother Sanjay Sharma expressed grief over his sister's death. He told that a total of 12 members of the family, including Pinky, had reached New delhi railway station on saturday night. Suddenly a crowd from behind pushed them on the footover bridge of platform number 14. Many people including pinky fell in the stampede. The crowd kept climbing over the fallen people. Sanjay told that his sister, wife and daughter were taken out of the crowd after a lot of effort. pinky had fainted by then. He said that despite pleading for help, no one paid attention. Instead of helping, people kept making videos with mobile cameras.

In such a situation, they themselves decided to give CPR to Pinky. For about an hour, the whole family kept trying to revive Pinky. Relatives said, "Pinky did not regain consciousness. When the crowd reduced, a stretcher of cloth was made. pinky was lifted through the stretcher and taken to the ambulance. After reaching the hospital, the doctors declared pinky dead." According to Pappu, no government employee present at the railway station helped.
