Will this tradition related to lord shiva broken in Varanasi?
Mahashivratri is considered the biggest festival in Kashi. On this day, Shiv procession is taken out in an attractive form from different places of Kashi. On the day of Mahashivratri, the Shiv procession that leaves for Gadaulia from Daranagar Mahamrityunjay temple in varanasi is considered the most grand and the biggest. But this time politics has started in Kashi regarding this Shiv procession.
Shiv procession will be taken out on 27th instead of 26th February
In fact, since the reversal of Mahakumbh, a large number of devotees are coming to Kashi. Mahashivratri is the last date. In such a situation, it is expected that more than 15 lakh devotees can reach kashi vishwanath temple on Mahashivratri to have darshan. On the other hand, this Shiv procession passes through Kashi Vishwanath Dham Marg after evening on Mahashivratri. Keeping in mind the huge crowd, this time on the basis of discussions between the varanasi district administration and the Shiv Barat Committee, it has been decided to take out the Shiv Barat on 27 february instead of 26 February.
Now the congress party has come into the fray accusing the government of breaking the tradition of Kashi. The congress party says that this is a direct tampering with the tradition of Kashi. Since ancient times, Shiv Barat is taken out on the day of Mahashivratri, but this time instead of Mahashivratri, the procession is being taken out on the next day as per convenience, which is against the tradition. The state president of the congress party, ajay Rai, himself has mentioned this matter by uploading a video from his social media account.
'The tradition of Kashi should not be broken'
On this matter, Vishwakantacharya Vyasji, an expert on traditions of Kashi and religious scholar, says that - There is a huge crowd in Kashi and especially during maha Kumbh, facilities for devotees are a priority. There is no doubt that the administration has a big responsibility on the day of Mahashivratri. But Kashi is known for its traditions. Especially in Kashi, the city of Lord Shankar, the customs and traditions associated with Mahadev make this city different from other cities. Therefore, one should not go against tradition under any circumstances, tradition is the scripture.
At the same time, discussions about this matter have also intensified in Kashi for the past hour. Where some people are rejecting the decision of Shiv Baraat to be taken out on 27 february instead of 26 february, in view of the crowd. On the other hand, some people also believe that ancient traditions are the identity of Kashi and arrangements related to festivals and traditions should not be decided according to one's own wishes.
