On the Chaturdashi date of Shukla Paksha of Falgun month, holi is played with baba in Devghar of North Bihar. In Muzaffarpur, devotees apply abir-gulal to Garibnath Mahadev. However, Devadhidev starts playing holi after his wedding, i.e. Mahashivratri. According to tradition, baba Garibnath is decorated with colors, abir and ash on Chaturdashi. Before Mahasringar, baba is anointed with milk, curd, ghee, honey and sugar and then Puja-Aarti is done. After this, baba is decorated with colorful flowers and holi is played with colors, abir and ash.
Along with the worship, after baba Garibnath, the prasad of Pua is distributed among the devotees who come to play Holi. Devotional songs and traditional songs along with drums and cymbals fill the entire courtyard with a strange intoxication. Devotional songs like 'Holi Khele Masane' and Jogira songs in baba Garibnath darbar create a strange thrill.
