Virat kohli steps down as royal challengers Bangalore captain after IPL 2021 season.

The royal challengers Bangalore (RCB) team is set to take the field with its new captain in the indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.

Virat kohli has announced his retirement from the captaincy of the RCB team during IPL 2021 in September. The goalie, who has led the RCB team for eight consecutive seasons, has now announced his resignation as captain.

The RCB has retained kohli (INR 15 crore), Glenn Maxwell (INR 11 crore) and Mohammad Siraj (INR 6 crore) ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction in January.

Former RCB player and coach Daniel Vettori have said Australia's all-rounder Maxwell should be the new captain.

Maxwell played well for the RCB team after being released from the punjab Kings (PBKS) team in IPL 2021. He averaged 513 runs in 42 games over 42, including 6 half-centuries.

Vettori said the RCB team has no chance of picking another captain in the auction and should appoint Maxwell as captain instead. Glenn Maxwell will be the best captain for the RCB team.

Maxwell showed his absolute best in the RCB, despite being eliminated from the other teams.

So, by appointing him as the captain, Vettori knew that he would be an even better player in the IPL.
