Saina kicked-off her BWF World Championships...


India's star shuttler saina nehwal has been seen in the Badminton World Championship. On Tuesday, Saina made a stellar start to her campaign at the BWF World Badminton Championships by registering a straight game win over Hong Kong's Cheung Ngan Yi. In this first round match, Saina defeated Ngan Yi 21-19, 21-9.


Directly reached the pre-quarterfinals

With this one win, Saina has entered the pre-quarterfinals. This has been possible because her second-round rival Nazomi Okuhara has been ruled out of the World championship tournament due to injury.

Thorn bump

Saina defeated Ngan Yi in straight games. But this victory was not so easy for her. After going down 4-7 in the first game, Saina took a 12-11 lead. They had to face a tough challenge for one point each. However, once taking the lead, Saina continued to dominate the game. At one point the score reached a draw of 19-19. In the second game, Saina showed an aggressive game and beat Ngan Yi badly. In the interval itself, Saina took an 11-6 lead and won the game easily 21-9.


Jolly and Gopichand also won

Women's doubles pair of Treesa Jolly and gayatri Gopichand also started their campaign with a win for India. Their pair defeated Malaysia's Yen Yuan Low and Valerie Seo 21-11, 21-13. The match was won easily.
