Is ravindra Jadeja's ODI career over? This question has been a topic of discussion among fans ever since Team India's ODI squad for the sri lanka tour was announced. After India's historic win in the t20 world cup 2024, ravindra jadeja announced his retirement from T20Is. It is now being reported that BCCI's selection committee has sidelined the veteran in ODIs as well.

"There are only six ODIs, including the three in sri lanka, before next year's Champions Trophy. The selectors want to utilize the handful of games by giving more opportunities to Axar patel and Washington Sundar," a bcci source told Hindustan Times.

"Nothing wrong with Jadeja's performance. The management just wants to look at other options as we have to build a team for the future," the source added.

However, ravindra jadeja will continue to be an integral part of India's Test side.

"Jadeja is outstanding in Test cricket. His bowling in home conditions is unmatchable. He will be important for India's World Test championship bid," the source added.

Since ravindra jadeja made his debut in 2009, india has played a total of 354 ODI matches, with Jadeja participating in 197 of them, accounting for 55.6% of the matches. Over his career, Jadeja has played 72 Test matches, 197 ODIs, and 74 t20 matches.

In Test cricket, the spin bowling all-rounder has accumulated 3036 runs and taken 294 wickets. In ODIs, he has scored 2756 runs and taken 220 wickets. In T20s, he has scored 515 runs and taken 54 wickets.

Jadeja has consistently been one of the first players selected for the team, but the selection committee is now considering bringing in younger players to build a new team.
