Manu Bhaker Wins Bronze: PM Modi, cm saini Laud manu Bhaker For Historic Bronze In 10m air Pistol Shooting

Manu Bhaker clinched a bronze medal in the women's 10m air pistol final in the French capital on Sunday.

Prime minister Narendra Modi on sunday congratulated manu Bhaker for winning India's first medal at the paris Olympics. 


Manu Bhaker clinched a bronze medal in the women's 10m air pistol final in the French capital on Sunday. She became the first indian woman to win a shooting medal at the olympic games, ending a 12-year wait for a medal in shooting. 

Calling it a 'historic medal', Prime minister Modi said, "Well done, @realmanubhaker, for winning India’s FIRST medal at paris Olympics2024! Congrats on the Bronze. This success is even more special as she becomes the 1st woman to win a medal in shooting for India."

Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini also congratulated Bhaker for winning the bronze medal. The haryana cm said that "finally the dream that the whole country had from Haryana's daughter came true."


Reacting to Manu Bhaker's success, her mother said, "I always wanted my daughter to be happy. I have always been feeling good."

Manu Bhaker's grandmother meanwhile said she would prepare a special food for her. The last time india won a medal in shooting at the olympics was in london in 2012 when rapid-fire pistol shooter Vijay Kumar won silver and 10m air rifle marksman Gagan Narang won bronze.
