Star indian shooter manu Bhaker, who won a bronze medal in the women’s 10 m air pistol event at the ongoing paris olympics 2024 on sunday (July 28), has a chance to create history on tuesday (July 30) by becoming the first indian female athlete to win multiple medals in a single edition of the Olympic games. The 22-year-old shooter from Haryana, who opened India’s medal account in paris on sunday, will be in action on tuesday during the bronze medal playoff match of the 10 m air pistol mixed team event.

If she and her partner Sarbajot Singh manage to get the better of the South Korean pair of Wonho Lee and Ye Jin Oh, then Bhaker will become the first female and second athlete overall to win two medals in a single edition of the olympics for India.Norman Pritchard is the first and only athlete to date to win two medals in the same olympic games for India. Vijay Kumar won a silver medal for india in the 25-metre rapid-fire pistol event of the 2012 london olympics, and Gagan Narang finished third in the 10-metre air rifle event of the 2012 olympics to win a bronze medal.
