BCCI earned a surplus of Rs 5,120 crores from IPL..!?

The Board of Control for cricket in india (BCCI) has earned an additional Rs 5,120 crore from the 2023 IPL matches. This is 116 percent more than the Rs 2,367 crore received by the bcci in 2022. bcci has released its annual financial report. It contains the details of BCCI's income and its reserves. According to this, BCCI's total revenue from IPL matches in 2023 is Rs 11,769 crore. Meanwhile, BCCI's expenditure is Rs 6648 crore. BCCI's expenditure has increased by 66% over last year. BCCI's financial report for 2023 revealed that BCCI's income from IPL has increased. bcci earns most of its income, especially through broadcasting rights and sponsorships given to the media. BCCI's media license revenue for 2023 IPL has increased by 131% to Rs 8,744 crore.
Similarly, the fee for team ownership increased by 22 percent to Rs 2,117 crore. Apart from this, the income from sponsorship is 847 crores. The GST paid on behalf of bcci for the financial years 2023 and 2024 is Rs.2038. In 2021, Disney Star acquired the licenses to telecast the IPL matches. According to this, the company paid Rs 23,575 crore for telecasting the IPL matches from 2023 to 2027. Similarly, jio Cinemas has bagged a deal to telecast IPL matches digitally. For this, the amount provided by jio Cinema is Rs 23,758 crore.
BCCI awarded IPL title licenses to Tata Sons Group for five years. Tata Sons has paid Rs 2500 crore for this. Angel One and My Circle have provided sponsorship worth Rs 1,485 crore. bcci is the richest and most powerful cricket governing body in the world. 16,493.2 crores as per the bcci system, the bank has reserves. This is Rs 10,000 crore more than last year. Similarly, bcci has got an additional income of Rs 377 crore through Women's Premier League matches. Total revenue for bcci is Rs 636 crore through media broadcasting license and team ownership fee.
