Vinesh Phogat competed in the freestyle 50kg category at the 2024 paris Olympics.
She became the first indian woman wrestler to qualify for the final. But he was expected to win the final and return home with gold, but was disqualified at the last moment as she weighed 100 grams more than the prescribed 50kg weight. Despite several attempts to lose weight, he could not lose weight properly. So, he lost the chance to win a medal.

After that, a heartbroken Vinesh Phogat announced his retirement. His appeal was also dismissed. Vinesh Phogat recently returned to the country. She was given a rousing welcome. Subsequently, Vinesh Phogat was felicitated in her native village. She was awarded various gifts ranging from a gold medal. In this case, a post about the gifts given to Vinesh Phogat has gone viral on social media.

According to the post, Vinesh Phogat received a gold medal and a cash prize of Rs 16.30 crore, including Rs 2 crore from the international Jat community and a stipend from haryana Chambers of Commerce and punjab Jat Associations.

Vinesh Phogat's husband Somveera rathi has denied the post.  "Vinesh Phogat has not received money from anyone, no organisation has given her any monetary assistance or prize money. No one, including industrialists and companies, has given any stipend to Vinesh Phogat. Also, no one should spread any misinformation in this regard. It will not only affect us, it will also affect the entire social values."
