Suryakumar Yadav, and Shreyas Iyer Battle For Test Career Revival As They Feature For mumbai In Buchi Babu Tournament

Suryakumar Yadav and Shreyas Iyer are set to feature for mumbai in the Buchi Babu Tournament as they aim to revive their Test careers.

Indian batters suryakumar yadav and Shreyas Iyer are set to represent mumbai in the Buchi Babu Tournament match against TNCA XI on august 27 (Tuesday) in Coimbatore. Both suryakumar yadav and shreyas iyer will be looking to make a strong impression in this tournament aiming for a comeback to the Test arena with the indian cricket team.

After getting his T20I captaincy career off to a winning start with the series win against Sri Lanka, suryakumar yadav is eager to showcase his red-ball skills and earn a place in India's Test squad. Meanwhile, shreyas iyer also aims to revive his Test career following recent struggles, hoping to regain form in this tournament and the upcoming Duleep Trophy, which is slated to start on september 5.

Suryakumar & Iyer Seek To Revive Test Careers Through Domestic Tournaments

Yadav has only featured in one Test for india to date, back in 2023 against australia at the Vidarbha cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur where he could only score eight runs in one innings. Iyer, however, has played 14 Tests for India with his last appearance being in the 2024 india vs england 2nd Test in Visakhapatnam, where he could not contribute much with the bat. Hence, both the india batters will look to get the most from the Buci Babu appearances and the upcoming Duleep Trophy as well.

The star-studded mumbai team will be led by Sarfaraz Khan, who is also aiming to secure a spot in the full-strength Test squad when india start their home season next month with the two-match Test series against Bangladesh, despite his promising start against england earlier this year.

Sarfaraz, who debuted in Tests earlier this year against england, has shown promise with the bat, scoring 200 runs in five innings at an average of 50.00, including three half-centuries.
