Paralympics 2024: PM Modi congratulated the athletes who won medals in paris Paralympics, praised them

On Tuesday, Mariyappan Thangavelu won the bronze medal in the men's high jump T63 event. Now PM Modi has congratulated both of them.

The PM on wednesday congratulated Sachin and Mariyappan by tweeting for their excellent performance. While congratulating Mariyappan, PM wrote- Congratulations to Mariyappan Thangavelu on winning the bronze medal in the men's high jump T63 event. It is commendable that he has won medals in three consecutive editions of the Paralympics. His skill, consistency, and determination are extraordinary.

At the same time, PM while congratulating Sachin wrote- Congratulations to Sachin player for his incredible achievement in the paris Paralympics. Showing a great display of strength and determination, he won the silver medal in the men's shot put F46 event. India is proud of him.


Sachin won silver

Mariyappan won bronze


Mariyappan Thangavelu won the bronze medal in the men's high jump T63 final on Tuesday. Mariyappan had won the silver medal at the tokyo Olympics. However, this time he had to settle for the bronze medal with a best jump of 1.85 meters. Mariyappan was initially interested in volleyball. Despite his condition, he used to play volleyball in school. But later his teacher inspired him to high jump. Mariyappan won the silver medal at the age of 14 by defeating normal players. In 2015, Mariyappan became world number one.
