Indian Grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa and R Vaishali gave india a great start in the 45th Chess Olympiad. India's men's and women's teams started with a win, in which this brother-sister duo shone. The indian men's team defeated morocco 4-0, while the women's team won 3.5-0.5 over Jamaica. World championship Challenger D Gukesh has taken a break from the first round.


Pragnanandhaa, Vidit, Erigesi, and Harikrishna also won


Pragnanandhaa started by defeating Tisir Mohammad. Vidit Gujarati, arjun Erigesi, and P Harikrishna also won their matches. Praggnanandhaa defeated Morocco's Mohammed, while Gujrathi defeated Okhir Mehdi Pierre. World No. 4 Erigesi also won his match against Jacques Elbilia convincingly. Harikrishna was challenged by Anas Mosiad, but his deep understanding of the game prevailed over his opponent. The men's team will play against iceland in the next round.


Vaishali, Tania won in time control


In the women's category, R Vaishali and Tania Sachdev won for the first time control itself, while divya Deshmukh had to sweat for victory. At the same time, Vantika Agarwal played a draw. In other matches, America defeated panama 3.5-0.5. In the open category, 99 teams started with a win and scored two points each. Vaishali had no problem playing with black pieces against adani Clark. D harika was rested. Tania Sachdev also won easily over Gabriela Watson. World junior girls champion divya won a draw against rachel Miller. Vantika, however, played a draw with rehana Brown. 178 teams are participating in the women's category.
