Hardik Pandya Stirs Speculation of Test Comeback by Bowling with red Ball

Hardik Pandya, who has been focused solely on limited-overs cricket since undergoing major back surgery, recently posted videos and photos of himself bowling with a red ball. This has ignited speculation about a possible return to Test cricket.

Pandya, who last played a first-class match in december 2018 and a Test match in August-September 2018, has been concentrating on white-ball formats since his surgery. Despite rumors that he might be included in India’s squad for the 2023 World Test championship final, Pandya dismissed the idea, stating he didn’t want to displace a regular Test player.

Although Pandya has not explicitly announced his intention to return to Test cricket, his recent social media activity suggests he may be considering it. The timing of these posts is notable, as india is set to face bangladesh in a Test series starting soon.

Concerns have been raised about whether Pandya has communicated his intentions to key figures like chief selector Ajit Agarkar, head coach gautam Gambhir, and captain Rohit Sharma.

India’s upcoming cricket calendar includes a two-match Test series against bangladesh, followed by a three-match series against New Zealand, and then the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in australia featuring five Tests.

If Pandya decides to pursue a Test comeback, he will need to demonstrate his form and fitness through domestic cricket, particularly with his team Baroda. The indian domestic season is already in progress, with the Duleep Trophy currently underway.
