Embarrassment for CAB as Mohammed Shami’s Felicitation

The cricket Association of bengal (CAB) faced a notable embarrassment on Saturday, september 14, during its annual awards ceremony. As indian pacer mohammed shami took the stage to receive a special award, a glaring typo stole the spotlight. Instead of his correct name, the giant screen displayed "Shamit," leading to a flurry of reactions and making the moment a viral topic online.

Shami was honored for his exceptional performance in the ODI world cup 2023, where he emerged as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker with 24 wickets from seven matches. Despite the accolade, the typo overshadowed the event, sparking a mix of shock and amusement among attendees and fans alike.

In related news, shami, who has been sidelined since november 2023 due to an ankle injury, has provided an update on his recovery. He expressed his eagerness to return to competitive cricket but emphasized the importance of fully regaining his fitness before making his comeback.

“I am working hard to make a comeback soon because I know I have been out of action for quite some time. However, I want to ensure there is no discomfort when I return. I’ve got to work on my fitness so that there is no discomfort,” shami said, as reported by the BCCI.

He added that he plans to play domestic matches if necessary to test his fitness before returning to international cricket. “What matters most is that I am fully ready for whatever comes next, regardless of the opposition or format,” shami explained.

While shami is actively working on his fitness, he remains cautious and determined to return in top form, aiming to avoid any further injuries.
