Dwayne Bravo Announces Retirement in Emotional Farewell

Former west indies captain dwayne bravo bid farewell to cricket after his last match for the Trinbago Knight Riders against the St. Lucia Kings in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) on september 24. The 40-year-old all-rounder took to instagram to confirm his retirement, reflecting on his remarkable career and expressing gratitude to the sport that shaped his life.


In his heartfelt post, Bravo reminisced about his journey: “From the age of five, I knew this was what I wanted to do—this was the sport I was destined to play. I dedicated my entire life to you, and in return, you gave me the life I dreamed of.” With 631 wickets in 582 t20 matches, Bravo retires as the all-time leading wicket-taker in t20 cricket, having been part of the west indies teams that won the t20 world cup in 2012 and 2016.


Bravo shared the bittersweet nature of his decision, stating, “As much as I’d love to continue, my body can no longer endure the pain. I can’t let down my teammates or fans.” He thanked his supporters, especially those from the Caribbean and Trinidad & Tobago, for their unwavering love throughout his career.

Following his retirement announcement, Bravo was confirmed as a mentor for kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2025 and will support other teams within the KKR setup. His legacy as a champion cricketer will undoubtedly continue to inspire future generations.
