BCCI Set to Announce IPL 2025 Retention Rules on Saturday

The Board of Control for cricket in india (BCCI) is expected to announce the retention rules for the 2025 indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday, september 28. According to reports from Cricbuzz, the IPL Governing Council will convene in Bengaluru, with the announcement anticipated within the next 24 hours.

The meeting is scheduled for 11:30 AM at the Four Seasons Hotel in Bengaluru. While there is no official confirmation regarding the number of players each team can retain, speculation suggests it could range from 2 to 8, with a likely middle ground of 5-6 players, including the Right to Match (RTM) option.

In addition to retention numbers, the Governing Council is expected to discuss the date and location for the IPL 2025 mega-auction. Reports indicate that saudi arabia is keen to host the auction, potentially in Riyadh, which could take place at the end of November.
