Famous for his swing bowling, India's former fast bowler praveen Kumar is celebrating his 38th birthday today i.e. on 02 october, 2024 (Wednesday). praveen troubled many great batsmen of the world with his swinging balls and showed them the way to the pavilion. The former indian bowler's father's name was Sakat Singh. He was a constable in Uttar Pradesh Police. Sakat Singh had taken VRS from the police service. The indian bowler's father was at home due to paralysis for a few years. Sakat Singh passed away on 16 april 2024. Even though Praveen's father was a police officer, he decided to take up cricket and proved his mettle with his swing bowling.
praveen may not have much speed, but his wavy balls were enough to baffle the batsmen. He played all three formats for India. He retired from all formats of cricket in october 2018.

It is worth noting that praveen played international cricket for india between 2007 and 2012. During this time, he played 6 Tests, 68 ODIs and 10 t20 international matches for the team. In Tests, he took 27 wickets in 11 innings at an average of 25.81. Apart from this, he took 77 wickets in 67 ODI innings at an average of 36.02. He took 8 wickets in the remaining 10 innings of t20 International. In t20 international, he conceded runs at an economy of 7.42.
Apart from this, he played first class cricket till 2017. Praveen, who played for Uttar Pradesh, played 66 first class matches in his career. Bowling in 121 innings of these matches, he took 267 wickets at an average of 23.61, in which his match best was 10/160.
