Kane Williamson Injury Update: New Zealand legend Kane Williamson has officially been ruled out of the 2nd Test match against india due to injury. The confirmation of the decision comes from the Kiwi head coach Gary Stead, who stated that the star batsman is still under rehabilitation, and that has not attained match fitness for the decisive Test match against the hosts.

"We're monitoring Kane and he's tracking in the right direction, but isn't yet 100 percent fit. We're hopeful to see further improvement over the coming days and have him available for the third Test. We'll give him as much time as possible to get himself ready, but certainly continue to take a cautious approach," said Gary Stead.

The former new zealand test captain and 2021 World Test championship winner sustained a groin injury during New Zealand's forgettable tour of sri lanka last month, as the Blackcaps were whitewashed 2-0 by the Lankan lions, and is now expected to return for the third and final Test match to be played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

New Zealand created history against india in the first Test match by winning their first-ever Test on indian soil in 36 years and recorded only their third-ever Test victory in India.

The second Test match is set to be played at the maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, starting this Thursday, october 24 onwards and both teams have their respective piece of history on the line.

India has not lost a Test series at home since 2012, when Alastair Cook's england dazzled the hosts with their sheer class in both, batting and bowling.

Also, new zealand managed to topple off Rohit Sharma's side without the services of their legend Kane Williamson, and now stands a great chance of winning their first-ever Test series in India.
