The Asian hockey Federation and hosts hockey India have announced that all the matches of the bihar Women's Asian Champions Trophy, Rajgir 2024 will be rescheduled in the morning to avoid insect infestation. Possible disruptions caused by insects during floodlights can be prevented.

As per the revised schedule, the first match of each day will start at 12:15 pm, followed by the second match at 2:30 pm and the last match at 4:45 pm. At the same time, according to the earlier schedule, the first match was to start at 03:00 pm, the second match at 05:15 pm and the last match at 7:30 pm. The decision was taken in consultation with the organizing committee, which took feedback from the respective teams. A large amount of insect infestation was observed during training sessions in floodlights.

Decision taken after meeting all standards

The bihar government actively implemented comprehensive environmental management measures at the venue, including state-of-the-art drone operations, which were treated under all protocols as per international standards. Under the protocol adopted in similar situations around the world, seven types of chemicals such as cyphenothrin, deltamethrin and cyfluthrin as well as other cold sprays are used in and around the stadium premises.
