IND vs AUS: Harshit Rana will be out of the third Test!
Harshit Rana is being criticized for his poor performance in the pink Ball Test played in Adelaide. Now the situation is such that the demand to exclude Harshit from the playing XI from the third Test is at its peak. Meanwhile, Sanjay Manjrekar has also advised to exclude Harshit from the brisbane Test. According to him, Akashdeep should be included in the playing XI as the third fast bowler. Remind that Harshit Rana conceded 86 runs in 16 overs in the first innings of the adelaide Test and could not take any wicket.
During a discussion, Sanjay Manjrekar has said that if the brisbane pitch helps the fast bowlers more than adelaide, then Akashdeep can prove to be more effective. Manjrekar said, "I don't want Harshit Rana to be out, but it is very much possible. If the brisbane pitch helps the fast bowlers a lot, then Akashdeep can play the role of the fourth fast bowler. Therefore, the indian team management will have to think carefully."
Harshit Rana-out, Akashdeep-in Sanjay Manjrekar also supported the strategy of three main fast bowlers, which Team india has been adopting so far. He said, "Jasprit bumrah, mohammed siraj, Harshit Rana or Akashdeep, this bowling line-up seems inadequate. If the pitch remains the same as it was in adelaide, then it may be right to give Akashdeep a chance." So far, in the two matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024, the indian team has been dependent on the trio of jasprit bumrah, mohammed siraj and Harshit Rana. At the same time, Nitish reddy has been bowling spells of 1-2 overs in between. This strategy failed miserably in the pink Ball Test, due to which questions started arising that jasprit bumrah was not getting support from the other end.
