Apart from Harmanpreet and manu Bhaker, who won two bronze medals in the paris Olympics, it was also announced to give Khel Ratna to World Chess championship winner indian Grandmaster D Gukesh and para-athlete praveen Kumar.

Indian men's hockey team captain Harmanpreet Singh expressed happiness over the announcement of the Khel Ratna award and said that it is a big achievement for him. This player, who was part of the bronze medal-winning team in the paris Olympics, said that he still has a lot to achieve in his life. The sports Ministry on thursday announced the National sports Award for outstanding contribution to sports in 2024, in which it was announced to give Khel Ratna to four players including Harmanpreet and manu Bhaker.

Apart from Harmanpreet and manu Bhaker, who won two bronze medals in the paris Olympics, it was also announced to give Khel Ratna to World Chess championship winner indian Grandmaster D Gukesh and para-athlete praveen Kumar. President draupadi murmu will felicitate the winners during a special event at Rashtrapati Bhavan on january 17.

Harmanpreet said this is the biggest honor of my life. This is a great achievement for me. I am really very happy. It seems that this is the best part of my life. I am getting such a big award and recognition.

This 28-year-old player, who scored the most 10 goals in the paris Olympics, has had a career full of achievements. He was also a member of the bronze medal-winning team in Tokyo before Paris. He won gold in the junior world cup in 2016, silver in the Commonwealth Games, gold and bronze in the Asian Games, as well as two silver medals in the Champions Trophy. Harmanpreet has won the FIH Player of the Year award three times, including last year. However, he is not satisfied with these achievements and still wants to achieve a lot in his career.

Harmanpreet said, I have learned a lot in my entire journey, I have seen many ups and downs including victory and defeat. I think however that you only learn from those experiences. My mindset from day one has been to improve myself. Whatever we are achieving we are doing it as a team. My journey has been very interesting, I am getting individual recognitions and awards but it has been possible only because of my teammates. I have thoroughly enjoyed my journey so far. I have worked very hard and I am happy with whatever I have achieved so far.
