

Wrestler Sushil Kumar gets relief in Sagar murder case!
In the junior wrestler Sagar Dhankhar murder case, the delhi high court granted regular bail to wrestler Sushil Kumar. Sushil Kumar has been granted bail by the high court on a bond of Rs 50. Sushil Kumar was arrested in the murder case in May 2021.
Sushil was earlier granted seven-day interim bail for surgery in July 2023. While granting bail, Delhi's rohini Court had said that two security personnel would be present with him 24 hours a day during the seven-day bail period. This bail was granted from July 23 to July 30, for which a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh had to be filled. Sushil was instructed that during this time he would neither threaten the witnesses nor tamper with the evidence. Two guards were given for the security of Sushil Kumar.
Accused of dominating junior wrestlers
According to the charge sheet filed in the case, Sushil Kumar had planned a ruckus at the Chhatrasal Stadium during which junior wrestler Sagar Dhankhar died. Actually Sushil Kumar wanted to establish his dominance among the young wrestlers.
Arrest was made in 2021
Apart from Sushil, his companions are also accused of attacking 23-year-old Sagar wrestler, his friend Sonu and three others. The attack took place on the night of 4 May 2021. Sagar died due to injuries. Sushil Kumar was arrested by delhi Police after this incident and sent to rohini Court. He was sent to jail in october 2021. He could not get bail.
Two-time Olympic medalist Sushil Kumar started his career from the arena of Chhatrasal Stadium. He was 14 years old at that time. He was also awarded the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award for his performance in wrestling. He also won gold medal in the Commonwealth Games in 2014 and 2018.
