After winning the toss in the second T20 match of the 3 match series against India, Sri Lanka decided to bowl first, making a completely wrong decision. Skipper Rohit Sharma displayed utmost confidence and dispatched almost every bowler mercilessly beyond the boundaries, and in the process made Indian cricket fans witness a blitzkrieg.

Rohit ended up scoring the fastest T20 ton in 35 deliveries, equalling the previous record held by Miller. Bolstered by Rohitman's 43 ball 118 and Lokesh Rahul's 49 balls 89, team India scored a massive 260/5 in 20 overs. The Sri Lankan innings began cautiously, but at one point, post the departure of Dickwella, Sri Lanka had comfortably found a way towards success with a huge stand.

Perera and Tharanga scored dangerous knocks of 77 and 47, and with a Century stand, almost threatened to snatch the match from India, Before the Indian bowlers struck powerfully, claiming wickets in quick succession as Sri Lankan batsmen fell like a pack of cards, with Chahal ending with 4/52, and Kuldeep Yadav ending with figures of 3/52, and ultimately rattling the Sri Lankan line up for 172, with 16 balls to spare. With this victory by a margin of 88 runs and the first T20 victory by 93 runs, India has won the series.
