Brendan Hunt, a co-creator of Ted Lasso, teases the series' time jump in season 3. Ted Lasso follows its titular small-time football coach, who is chosen to head the UK premier soccer team, AFC Richmond, despite having no expertise or knowledge of the sport. It is based on the character Jason Sudeikis jokingly developed for NBC sports Coverage. The series has been a tremendous hit for apple TV+ thanks to its excellent combination of comedy/drama and huge heart.

Season 2 of Ted Lasso aired last summer, and while it didn't have the same societal effect as the first, it served as the sequel to season 1's A New Hope. Season 2 finishes on a significant cliffhanger, with Mohammed's Nate joining the evil side, resigning AFC Richmond, and becoming the head coach of Rupert's West Ham United, setting up a rivalry in season 3. The creators of Ted Lasso have already revealed that the show will be three seasons long, with season three set to be the final instalment.

Brendan Hunt, who also plays Coach Beard on the show and is a co-creator of Ted Lasso, was questioned about season 3 in a recent interview with tv Line. Hunt previewed season 3's time jump by mentioning how season 2 entered the football season in late September. For the uninitiated, the english Premier League season normally runs from august to May. The season 2 finale of Ted Lasso aired at the end of the season. Season 3 will most likely begin two months after the conclusion of season 2 with the first match of the year.
