The Tech Giant, google, will remove the unlimited freebie version of holding group calls. 24 hrs Unlimited Group call era has come to an end, with this gambit.

Free Gmail users can only hold group calls with 3 or more participants for a maximum of an hour. On the other side of the coin, one-to-one calls will continue with a maximum limit of 24 hours for free Gmail Users.

The Video Conferencing solution was made available to all Gmail users in april last year. The search Engine Giant said that it would impose a time limit for free users, but due to the raging pandemic, it extended its deadline till june 2021.

As the Vaccination drive gathers pace all around the world, countless workspaces have resumed online works, now further extensions of the free version would be unlikely.

A notification message for time-outs will be received by all the users, telling them the call would end soon. The host can either restart a meeting or upgrade to the paid version of google MEET.

As an alternative approach, the google Giant has recently initiated a new google Workspace Individual tier which allows users to upgrade their accounts. This initiative is introduced in a few countries, and the pricing is fixed to $ 9.99 or Rs 745 a month.

In any case, unlimited free group calls will never be hosted on google Meet anymore.
