Failure to link Aadhaar will render the PAN card inactive..!?

For a long time, the government has been calling for the permanent account number to be linked to a PAN card with an Aadhaar card. According to the notification issued by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), it has been said that those who fail to link the important document with the Aadhaar card will have their PAN card deactivated. In its latest tweet, CPDT tweeted saying that according to the Income Tax Act, 1961, the last date for linking a PAN number with Aadhaar is 31.3.2023, and PAN card of persons who fail to link PAN card by this date will become inactive.
According to the notification issued on May 11, 2017, all PAN holders who do not fall under the exemption category and have not linked their Aadhaar with their PAN number should link it immediately. Link your PAN card with an Aadhaar card by paying Rs.1,000 at www.incometax.in. Here we will see who is exempted from Aadhaar and PAN linking process.

1) NRIs.

2) Non-citizen of India.

3) Persons above 80 years of age.

4) Residents of Assam, Meghalaya, or Jammu & Kashmir.
