A third, 'code execution vulnerability' is due to incorrect validation of a file when the system reads it from flash memory. According to the cyber agency, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability by copying "formatted file disk 0: to the file system of the affected device". Additionally, CERT-In advises people to apply the appropriate updates released by Cisco.
