*Lenovo Developing AI-Powered Chromebook Tablets, Codenamed Ciri,

Lenovo is reportedly working on two new AI-enhanced Chromebook tablets, collectively codenamed Ciri, according to Chrome Unboxed, which tracked the devices through public repositories cros.tech and Chromium Dash, drawing data from google servers. An official announcement may be on the horizon.

These tablets, expected to be named the Lenovo Chromebook Duet, will follow in the footsteps of the IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook. Like its predecessor, the new Duet will feature an 11-inch detachable display and run on MediaTek's recently launched Kompanio 838 SoC (system on a chip). The ARM-based chipset, featuring the NPU 650, is designed to enhance performance through its dedicated AI processor, offering high-quality multimedia capabilities and extended battery life.

Chrome Unboxed suggests that this processor will enable more interactive and intelligent applications, with the ability to support up to two 4K displays simultaneously and deliver vivid on-screen colors. The second device in development is an education-focused model, expected to be more durable for school use.

However, the new Duet may not be part of the Chromebook Plus series, which offers superior performance and exclusive features like Magic Editor, Generative Backgrounds, and Adobe Photoshop support. While this might not significantly impact performance, it could limit access to some advanced features. As the device is still under development, these details are subject to change, so the final product may vary from current reports.
