Apple's next iphone range upgrade is almost here. The tech giant has announced that it will hold its annual autumn event on september 9—this year's event is called "Glow Time"—and that it would probably introduce the much awaited iphone 16 series. As is customary, apple is anticipated to provide a number of notable improvements to its upcoming iphone range in comparison to the iphone 15, such as a faster CPU, a larger display, a better camera, and more.

With a few small changes that could make the new models somewhat different, the iphone 16 series is anticipated to mostly maintain the design language of the iphone 15 series. According apple rumors, the regular iphone 16 models will have a 6.1-inch 60Hz OLED screen with the same Dynamic Island feature as the iphone 15. On the other side, a 6.3-inch display is anticipated for the Pro versions, and a 6.9-inch display for the iphone 16 Pro Max. If these rumors are accurate, this display modification will mark the first major size improvement in a number of years.

The ordinary iphone 16 models' fronts will essentially look the same, but there are rumors that apple plans to reinstate the iphone X's vertical camera arrangement. This might mean that the camera will be able to record in three dimensions or in space, which would be compatible with Apple's Vision Pro.

It's also quite likely that apple will include the Action Button to the full range, as opposed to only the iphone 15 Pro, as per the rumors from last year. Rumor has said that the iphone 16 Pro versions would also come with additional buttons, such a dedicated capture button to improve camera control capability.

The CPU of the iphone 16 is anticipated to receive a big improvement. The iphone 16 is said to use Apple's most recent in-house A18 processor, which is anticipated to improve the series' overall performance. The iphone 15 uses the A16 chip. According to reports, the new A18 CPUs will enable on-device AI processing, bringing apple Intelligence across the whole lineup and greatly enhancing performance in all areas, including multitasking and gaming.

In addition to the potent A18 CPU, apple is also rumored to be increasing the ram in the iphone 16 from 6GB to 8GB, which will improve multitasking and speed even more.
