Out of them, 97 complaints have been immediately acted upon.
WhatsApp also received two orders from the country's Grievance Appellate Committee and made changes to the whatsapp messaging platform accordingly, it said in a monthly statement. "We will be transparent in our work and will include and publish information about our efforts in future reports," Meta said. whatsapp has also hired a team of engineers, data scientists, analysts, researchers, and experts with experience in law enforcement, online security, and technology developments to oversee these efforts. We help users block and report a contact if they don't need it. Fraudulent accounts are detected at three levels. One when a traveler registers, another when sending a message, another when there is negative feedback on the messages being sent.. ie a user can report or block if they don't need it and this helps detect fraudulent accounts.
Between august 1, 2024, and august 31, 2024, 8,458,000 whatsapp accounts were banned out of such detected accounts, of which 1,661,000 were banned before any complaints were received from users. whatsapp continues to focus on improving passenger safety.
