School student did wonders! Made Foldable Smartphone!

A school student in china has done wonders by making a foldable smartphone at home. people are surprised to hear about his feat and he is being discussed a lot on social media. Lan Bowen, who studies at Yiling High school in Yichang, Hubei, has made this phone with the help of a 3D printer. He told that there are many inward folding vertical and horizontal models available in the market, but there is no such vertical foldable phone, whose screen is visible outside after folding. This gave him the idea of making his new vertical foldable phone.

Many videos of Bowen surfaced on Chinese social media. His first video surfaced on february 16. In this, he was shown making a foldable phone with 16mm thickness. He prepared its frame using a 3D printer bought for about Rs 24,000. He took out the rest of its components from the family's old phones and ordered some material online. He told that the biggest challenge he faced while making the phone was to make the touchscreen functional.

Many changes were made in the design

Bowen said that the touchscreen was not working when the phone was unfolded. He had to work hard on it. He told that he had to change the design of the phone many times. A lot of tests were done on it to make it functional. Before making the touchscreen functional, he had damaged many screens during testing. Bowen further told that his model is still in its very initial stage and there are many shortcomings in it, which are yet to be removed. However, he expressed happiness that it is supporting all the functions of a normal mobile phone.
