Salary is given according to grade pay

If reports are to be believed, the salary in nasa is given according to the grade pay of the US government. Meaning that civilian astronauts get salary according to the grade pay GS-13 and GS-15 of the US government.
Salary of Astronauts
According to reports, as per 2024 GS rates, the salary ranges from $84362 i.e. Rs 70,79,910 in indian rupees to $115,079 i.e. Rs 96,57,429. However, on NASA's website, the salary of an astronaut in 2024 is stated to be $152,258 i.e. Rs 1,27,75,968.78 in indian rupees per year.
If we talk about grade pay, then GS-13 has a provision of annual salary ranging from $ 81,216 to $ 105,579. If we talk about monthly salary, then it is $ 8798.25.
Whereas in GS-14, it gives annual salary ranging from $ 95,973 to $ 124, 764. According to the month, it is $ 10,397.
The most experienced astronauts come in the payout of GS-15. Their work is very skilled. These people become a part of NASA's most difficult mission. Their salary is $ 146,757 annually.
