Elon Musk's Starlink joins hands with Airtel!
Bharti airtel and Elon Musk's company SpaceX have joined hands to take internet connectivity to a new height in India. airtel informed about this agreement in a regulatory filing on Tuesday. Under this deal, SpaceX's Starlink satellite internet service will be launched in india, although this deal is still awaiting the approval of the government of India.
What is the plan?
airtel and Starlink will together explore ways to increase internet connectivity in India. Apart from this, airtel can sell Starlink equipment at its retail stores and provide high-speed satellite internet to businesses. Both companies will work together to provide internet to rural schools, healthcare centers and remote areas. Starlink's satellite technology will further strengthen Airtel's existing network, while SpaceX will be able to use Airtel's ground infrastructure.
Airtel's big move
airtel has already partnered with Eutelsat OneWeb for satellite broadband. This new deal with Starlink will further expand Airtel's coverage, especially in areas where there is no internet access. Vittal said, "This partnership will give us the ability to deliver high-speed broadband even in the most remote areas of India. Starlink will further improve Airtel's products so that every indian can get cheap and reliable internet."
