Having problem with internet connectivity at home?

From work to entertainment at home, a large number of people are using Wi-Fi these days. Wi-Fi provides internet with high speed and there are less connectivity issues in it like mobile. However, sometimes due to the location of the house or other reasons, there is some decrease in internet speed or connectivity. If you are facing any such problem, then you can increase the internet speed with some easy tips.

Keep the router at a central location

If you live in a big or two-storey house, then sometimes the placement of the router can cause problems in internet connectivity. The connectivity on the second floor can be weak due to the router placed on the first floor. Therefore, always keep the router at a place from where connectivity can be available in the whole house. If your house is big, then a device called repeater can also be used.

Set the band as per requirement

Most WiFi routers run on 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands. The 5 GHz band has a shorter range, but it provides faster speed and stable connectivity. On the other hand, the 2.4 GHz band has a longer range, but the speed is reduced. In such a situation, if you want connectivity to every corner of the house, then the 2.4 GHz band can be chosen.

Do not keep the router near metal objects

Metal objects, floors and walls weaken the wireless signal. So always keep the router away from them. If you work from a particular place in the house, then try to keep the router near that place. Apart from this, wired connection can also be used for better connectivity.

Take a plan with higher speed

If the problem regarding speed persists even after taking all the measures, then the internet plan can be upgraded. Contact your service provider and choose a plan with better speed according to your need.
