BIS Raids amazon, flipkart Warehouses. Here's Why.

The Bureau of indian Standards (BIS) said on thursday that it determined multiple items that lacked the necessary certification at some point during raids in various warehouses of e-trade systems amazon and Flipkart.

"In a recent raid performed on 7 march at an amazon warehouse in Lucknow, BIS seized 215 toys and 24 hand blenders, all lacking mandatory BIS certification," information employer ANI quoted the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution as having stated in a declaration.

This comes after a similar operation in february 2025 at an amazon warehouse in Gurugram resulted in the seizure of 58 aluminum foils, 34 steel water bottles, 25 toys, 20 hand blenders, 7 percent cables, 2 meal mixers, and 1 speaker, which had all been non-certified.

The cutting-edge raid took place in warehouses placed in cities, which include Lucknow, Gurugram, and delhi, the statement said.

Similarly, a raid at a flipkart warehouse in Gurugram, which Instakart Offerings Pvt. Ltd. operated, noticed the seizure of "534 stainless steel bottles (vacuum insulated), 134 toys, and forty-one speakers that were no longer certified."

The BIS research additionally determined that those multiple violations of both amazon and flipkart traced the non-licensed products back to Techvision Worldwide Pvt. Ltd.

As a result, the BIS raids at two extraordinary centers of Techvision worldwide in delhi uncovered approximately 7,000 electric-powered water heaters, 4,000 electric meal mixers, 95 electric-powered room heaters, and 40 fuel stoves without certification.

The non-certified products seized included manufacturers together with Digismart, Activa, Inalsa, Cello Fast, and Butterfly, among others, in keeping with the announcement.
