The police have banned the flying of drones, remote-controlled microlight aircraft, paragliders and hot air balloons for a period of one month. police officials have given information in this regard on thursday (03 April). This ban will come into effect from 4 April.
An official said that the prohibitory order issued under section 163 of the indian Civil Security Code will be in force from 4 april to 5 May. There is a possibility of threat to the safety of people from terrorists and anti-social elements. Strict action has been said to be taken in case of non-compliance of the order regarding the ban on flying objects.

According to the order issued by mumbai police, terrorists and anti-social elements can use drones, remote-controlled microlight aircraft, paragliders in their attacks and target VVIPs, endanger the lives of people, as well as destroy public property and create law and order disturbances in the mumbai police Commissionerate area.

The order states that to prevent potential damage through flying objects, there is a need to impose some restrictions on the activities of such elements in the city, for which some preventive measures need to be taken. In view of this, mumbai police has banned the flying activities of drones, remote-controlled microlight aircraft, paragliders.

Flying activities of drones, remote-controlled microlight aircraft, paragliders will not be allowed in the jurisdiction of mumbai police except for police aerial surveillance or special permission of DCP (Operations). The order from mumbai police clearly states that any person violating the order will be punished under Section 223 (disobedience to lawful order promulgated by a public servant) of the indian Justice Code.
