CERT-In has issued an alert about serious security flaws in the desktop version of google Chrome users. These flaws are so dangerous that cyber criminals can steal your data from your system. What is the problem?
According to CERT-In, these flaws have been found due to lack of proper coding in some features of google Chrome such as custom tabs, intents, extensions, navigation, autofill and downloads. If a user clicks on a website designed in a particular way, then hackers can take advantage of these flaws and run the desired code in the system.
Which versions are affected?
This problem has been seen on versions older than 135.0.7049.52 of Linux and versions older than 135.0.7049.41/42 of Windows and macOS. It can also affect those users who use Chrome on their personal or office computers. Apart from data theft, this can also cause system crash or instability.
How to update google Chrome?
Updating google Chrome is also quite easy. First of all open google Chrome on your computer. Click on the three dots on the top right. Go to “Help” and click on “About google Chrome”. Chrome will automatically check for updates and if a new version is available, the download will start. After the update, click on “Relaunch”, which will open the browser again and fix the security flaws.
