Kanimozhi joked that none of the federal government's plans announced by the prime minister could even be pronounced in other languages and that there was no problem in naming them in english or regional languages.

Kanimozhi found it difficult to name the central government's plan "Atma Nirbar Bharat" in the middle of his lok sabha speech. She could not say it completely as it was a difficult hindi word to pronounce. However, kanimozhi jokingly pointed out the naming in such an incomprehensible language.

Kanimozhi spoke in the lok sabha on the commitments made by india at the recent Glasgow Climate Conference, including Net Zero, on the federal government's plans to tackle climate change and the importance of the federal government's consultation with state governments on climate change.

She went on to quote the Prime Minister's "Atma Nirbar Bharat" program, which was then introduced to promote a self-sufficient economy. But he had difficulty pronouncing that hindi word. Then other Northern members and the Speaker tried to name the project.

Then kanimozhi said, "Shouldn't the name be given in english or regional languages when most people in a country with so many regional languages do not know hindi ..?" That raised the question. Then one of the members replied in the tone of ‘What do we do if you do not understand?’ kanimozhi replied, “Okay then I will speak tamil now and see if you understand”. Its video is currently going viral.

Kanimozhi expressed dissatisfaction, noting that when there is no ban on speaking in hindi in parliament, only pre-permission to speak in other regional languages, including tamil, is required.

We should also note that there is no provision in parliament for members who speak hindi to translate their speech into other languages, even though it is said that translators must obtain prior permission to do so when speaking in another language. So, Kanimozhi's speech underscores the question of why this is a unique privilege for hindi only. Congratulations kanimozhi ...!
