A cake pastry assaulted the Mona Lisa. Over Sunday, a man dressed as an old lady spread cake pastry cream on the Mona Lisa at the Louvre in Paris. The picture was allegedly attacked by a man who leaped from a wheelchair and covered the protective glass above the artwork in cream, according to camera evidence of the incident. Leonardo Da Vinci, the world's most famous artist, created the painting.

Before being apprehended, the man is said to have thrown rose petals throughout the area. He also advised those present to consider the environment. The vandalism is supposed to be a protest against the environment. 'There are people who are killing the Earth...' says the man in the video, speaking in French. Consider the Earth, all artists. That's why I went ahead and did it. Consider the world.' A museum staffer was observed wiping a mess off the glass.

The man was taken to a police psychiatric unit, and it is unclear where he is currently, though paris prosecutors have stated that charges against him are being considered. The man wasn't crazy for sitting in a wheelchair: disabled visitors can wheel straight up to the painting, while non-disabled visitors must remain beyond a roped barrier. This isn't the first time Mona Lisa has been targeted. The picture was stolen in 1911. (an inside job by an employee). It was enclosed after being attacked by both a rock and acid in 1956. A woman tossed a ceramic cup at the picture 13 years ago, the most recent incident.
