Birth Certificate: government Important Notification for those born before 01.01.2000

A birth certificate is an important document for enrolling a child in school, obtaining a voter ID card, proof of age, obtaining a driver's license, passport and visa, among others. A birth certificate is a legal document of a child. Registration of the child's name alone is a complete birth certificate.

When a child is born, a birth certificate is issued through local bodies and public health departments. In those certificates, name should be added within 15 years of the child's birth. In other words, for births registered before 01.01.2000 and for births registered 15 years after 01.01.2000, the time limit for obtaining birth certificate with child name has been extended till 31.12.2024.

Therefore, Public health Director Selva Vinayak said that those who have not registered their names should register their names by december 31st, and district health Associate and Deputy Directors should ensure that the names are included in the birth certificates of school students.

He also said that if the name is missing, parents should be informed through the students and steps should be taken to add the name.Director of Public health Selva Vinayak has also said that steps should be taken to add names within this year to create awareness about the difficulties faced by students in the future.
