Mother Bear and Cubs Steal Chips from car in New Hampshire

In a charming yet unexpected turn of events, a mother bear and her cubs were caught on camera in Bartlett, New hampshire, raiding a car for snacks. The video, which has quickly gained traction on social media, captures the moment the bear cleverly climbs into the vehicle through a window that had been taped. After rummaging inside, she emerges with a bag of chips in tow, which she then carries back to her waiting cubs.

The New hampshire Fish and Game Department noted that such behavior is typical of bears, which are opportunistic feeders. When natural food sources are scarce, bears will search for human food supplies. While this particular incident involved no harm beyond the loss of a snack, it highlights the adaptability and resourcefulness of wildlife in urban and suburban environments.

However, this incident is relatively benign compared to more dangerous encounters involving bears. For instance, a disturbing video from 2019 shows a bear attacking its handler during a circus performance in Olonets, Russia. In this case, the bear was part of an act where it was supposed to push a wheelbarrow, but the situation escalated when the handler aggressively yanked on the animal's snout. The bear reacted with aggression, leading to an intense and frightening scene. The circus crew had to intervene forcefully to bring the bear under control, and the frightened audience fled the arena in panic.

These contrasting incidents underscore the complex interactions between humans and wildlife, illustrating both the charming and potentially hazardous behaviors of animals in proximity to human activities.
