What happened in the matter?
Deputy Superintendent of police NY patel said that the incident took place on thursday (August 29) in Kanku Thambla village of Godhra taluka, when the victim was allegedly caught trying to steal fertilizer from a shop. Another official said that after the video of the incident was reported to the Godhra taluka police, a case of attempted theft was registered against the 30-year-old victim Sujan Bhavri. Another official said that an FIR has been registered against Ganpatsingh Parmar and Manubhai Charan under IPC for wrongful confinement, assault, insult etc.

An official of Godhra taluka police station said that Bhavri says that he had bought three packets of seeds from the shop for Rs 30, but the victim Sujan Bhavri forgot to pay the shopkeeper at that time. The official said that according to Bavri, the shopkeeper thought that he had paid Rs 500, so he returned Rs 470. However, the accused followed him, accused him of theft and beat him up. The claims and counter-claims are being investigated.
