wipro, the country's fourth largest information technology (IT) company, hopes to recruit 10,000-12,000 students in the next financial year 2025-26. wipro made this announcement after announcing its december quarter figures on Friday. The company tried to allay any concerns about changes in the H-1B visa system in the US, saying that a significant part of its employees are local in the US.

wipro Chief Human Resources Officer Saurabh Govil, while announcing the company's quarterly figures, said, "We are hiring a large number of people... who are local in the US and today a significant part of our employees in the US are local. We have a good stock of H-1B visas, so we can transfer people whenever required... If the demand increases, the supply side will not be a hindrance for us." 2500-3000 freshers will join the company every quarter Saurabh Govil said that the company has accepted all its pending offers. The company will continue to induct 2,500-3,000 'freshers' every quarter. This means that 10,000-12,000 'freshers' will be inducted every financial year. The company will hire 10-12 thousand freshers from different campuses of the country next year. The number of employees stood at 2,32,732 in the October-December quarter of FY 2024-25, while it was 2,33,889 in the July-September quarter and 2,39,655 in the december quarter of FY 2023-24.

Wipro's consolidated net profit in the third quarter of the current financial year 2024-25 grew 24.4 per cent year-on-year to around Rs 3,354 crore. wipro said in a notice to the stock market on friday that the company's operating revenue grew 0.5 per cent to around Rs 22,319 crore during the period under review. According to the company's information, wipro expects to earn revenue between $260.2 million and $265.5 million from the IT services business for the upcoming march quarter. wipro has also announced an interim dividend of Rs 6 per share.
