IMD scientist Dr. Soma Sen Roy said that the temperature in North india may increase by 1-2 degrees Celsius. However, there is no possibility of further increase in temperature in Delhi. From january 24, the temperature may gradually drop due to the advancement of the western disturbance. Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has predicted rain in Punjab, Haryana, Western UP, Delhi-NCR and Northern rajasthan till january 23.

Fog in other states

Dense fog is likely in UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, bengal and Odisha. Normal life may be affected due to low visibility in these states.

Delhi's air quality in 'poor' category

According to the central pollution control board (CPCB), Delhi's air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 262 at 9 am, which falls in the "poor" category. AQI between zero to 50 is considered "good" and between 51 to 100 satisfactory, between 101 to 200 moderate, between 201 to 300 poor, between 301 to 400 very poor and AQI between 401 to 500 is considered in the severe category.

Delhi's maximum temperature and historical record

The maximum temperature in delhi is expected to be around 24 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. On january 19, the maximum temperature was recorded at 26.1 degrees Celsius, which was the hottest day of january in six years. The last time the maximum temperature was recorded was on january 21, 2019, when it was 28.7 degrees Celsius.
