Preparations for the 76th Republic Day celebrations on 26 january in the capital delhi have reached the final stage. Like every year, this time too the Republic Day parade will start from Vijay Chowk on thursday (January 23, 2025) at 10:30 am and end at the red Fort. According to delhi police, during the full dress rehearsal on january 23, delhi Metro rail services will be available to passengers at all stations. According to the delhi police traffic advisory, the parade will start from Vijay Chowk and proceed through Kartavya Path, C-Hexagon and Statue of Netaji subhash chandra Bose. After this, it will end at the red Fort via Tilak Marg, bahadur shah zafar Marg, and Netaji Subhash Marg.
Information about traffic restrictions
Traffic on Kartavya Path between Vijay Chowk and india gate will be completely closed from 6 pm on Thursday. Traffic will also be closed on Rafi Marg, Janpath and Mansingh Road crossing Kartavya Path from 11 pm on Wednesday.
C-Hexagon - india gate area: Traffic will be completely closed on C-Hexagon from 9:15 am on thursday and will remain closed till the parade passes.
Tilak Marg and Netaji Subhash Marg: Traffic will be temporarily stopped on these routes as per the movement of the parade.
East-West Corridor: To exit on these corridors, people can continue their journey via Inner Ring Road i.e. IP college to Azadpur Chowk, GTK Road-Shakti nagar to Azadpur Chowk, Chhatrasal Stadium Road to Camp Chowk as an alternative mark.
Impact on trucks and metro services
Entry of trucks will be banned on the border adjoining delhi from 11 pm on wednesday till the end of the parade. Metro services will operate normally and will not be disrupted during the parade. delhi Traffic police has appealed to the people traveling during the parade to follow the traffic plan and avoid going on these routes. It is advisable to use alternate routes and travel with extra time.
