Accused Tausif arrested by EOW, called himself informer of scam!

mumbai police has got a big success in Torres Ponzi scam. Economic Offenses Wing of mumbai police i.e. EOW has arrested absconding accused Tausif Riaz in Torres scam case. A few days ago, Tausif had called himself a whistle blower and he had tried to save another person arrested in the case.

Tausif Riaz is also the CEO of Torres company and he was absconding since the case came to light. Tausif claimed that when he came to know about the scam, he had put this matter in front of the central agencies. He had claimed that he was not with the accused but against them.

The accused has links with Bihar

It is being told that Tausif Riaz has links with Bihar. He is a resident of Sultanganj in Bhagalpur. Economic Offenses Wing had also raided Sultanganj for his arrest. A lookout notice was also issued against him. Apart from this, the police also raided the house of his relatives in bhagalpur city and Tausif's ancestral house in Sultanganj.

Three people have been arrested earlier too

During the investigation recently, the EOW team seized Rs 5 crore from a flat in Colaba. This company had cheated thousands of investors in lieu of giving them precious stones, while they gave them cheap stones which cost only Rs 300. Not only this, the company had also promised good returns to the investors.

Three people have already been arrested in this case, while two foreign nationals are absconding. It is believed that they have fled to their country Ukraine. It is being told that the accused involved in the Torres scam had made hundreds of investors victims of their scheme, including mumbai and adjoining Navi mumbai, Mira Bhayander.
