What is 'Cyber Safety Kiosk'?
This kiosk has been created by the National Forensic Science university (NFSU), Gandhinagar. Its main objective is to scan and identify dangerous files and apps present in mobile phones, pen drives and other storage devices. Mainly it will identify dangerous files like malware, virus and backdoor, detect apps banned by the government of India, tell the exact location of the infected application, also investigate Android, iphone and Windows apps in depth and prepare a detailed report after scanning.
How will it work?
Users will connect their mobile phones or storage devices to the kiosk. Then the machine will scan and detect viruses and malware. If the device is found infected, the user will be alerted and will get the option to remove the virus through the kiosk itself. After the scanning is complete, the report will also be sent to the email.
